Hello Devoted Sideshow Blerg Readers,
Welcome to Ms. Megan’s first blog post. In case you don’t know, I’m the Managing Director for Sideshow. Now we are introduced. Let us proceed, shall we?
I admit, it’s been awhile since we posted. I carry that shame with me every day. I’m hoping we can acknowledge this horrifying incident and move forward, together, to a new day. We can even frolic as we do so.
You down? Oh awesome. Before we move forward, let’s look back. TWO MONTHS since the last post?!?!? Damn. Here’s what Sideshow’s been up to.
Medea With Child by Janet Burroway opened March 8th, then closed April 25th, and it was a delight. Described in Time Out Chicago as a ‘Heartfelt, High-Spirited Success‘ made us folks at Sideshow feel lucky to be able to produce this show. Check out these production photos:
Know what else we’ve been up to? CLLAW VI. That’s right, our sixth Chicago League of Lady Arm Wrestlers match, in case you don’t know roman numerals. You can see the pictures and read all the details on our CLLAW blog, and here’s a photo of our CLLAW VI Champion:
Oh goodness, who is that? Is that little ol’ me with the crown? SNAP. Killer Bee’s title was taken by the Cutting Edge, but all for a good cause. Sideshow raised a really lovely chunk of change for Sideshow and Gilda’s Club Chicago!
Now, to the future. Sideshow is excited to have a flash performance of our first ever ensemble devised piece in development, Strangerland, at the TCG Conference in June! And we’re going to workshop Strangerland for a whole month in October as part of the DCA Incubator Series! Go Strangerland go! I’m sure we’ll blog more about that later.
My lunch break is over. Enjoy the post, and we’ll promise to keep it updated regularly moving forward. I am so hopelessly devoted to you.
Hugs and Kisses,
Ms. Megan
