Thank you everyone who participated in Sideshow’s first ever ticket contest for Theories of the Sun! It was a mild success! I had my hopes up for complete failure, so this exceeded my wildest dreams!

There were so many great responses and it was tough to determine which one completely caught my fancy the most. Since I can only give away one prize, I deliberated at my computer for many seconds…

Her response: Jesse James (the original racist) and Thomas Alva Edison: Play opens in 1874 with Edison staging JJ’s death so as to preserve the controversial criminal for a later time and project once the technology is ready. Enter Edwin Porter several years later, being groomed by Edison for a new kind of art. Porter shadows an elderly James as he shapes The Great Train Robbery. Film making is born under specious circumstances…

Suzy won for a few reasons. First off, I had to Wikipedia Edwin Porter to figure out who he was. Second, I had to look up the word specious. Considering she made me self educate myself twice in a matter of seconds, I figure the people and plot for her imaginary play must be SLAMMIN. Also just to clarify, the Jesse James we are referring to is the American outlaw, bank robber and murderer from the 1800′s, not the moronic, tattooed simpleton who at one point, for reasons unknown to any living man, got to bang Sandra Bullock. Thank you Suzy for an interesting combination. Now go write the play and you can post it on our blog.
